Vietnam Airline to fly directly to Indonesia
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has planned to create a direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Jakarta (Indonesia).
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has successfully launched a direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Jakarta (Indonesia). This development makes Vietnam Airlines the second airline to operate this route, following the international airline AirAsia.
The route was officially inaugurated on December 2, 2025, with a frequency of four flights per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
This direct connection is seen as a significant opportunity for Vietnam's tourism sector to tap into the potential market in Indonesia and neighboring countries. It also serves as an impetus for increased commercial and diplomatic relations between the two nations.
In recent years, Vietnam has emerged as a favored destination for Indonesian travelers. Typically, tourists from Indonesia spend about four to five days visiting vibrant cities such as Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, as well as other popular attractions like Ha Long Bay.
