VietJet Air opens new air route Hanoi – Bangkok

On June 1 2013, the budgeted airline VietJet Air officially launched new air route Hanoi – Bangkok in attempt to expand its business to South East Asian region.

On June 1 2013, the budgeted airline VietJet Air officially launched new air route Hanoi – Bangkok in attempt to expand its business to South East Asian region.

With this new route, VietJet Air offers seven two-way flights per week with a shocking prices of only VND450,000 (US$21) per one-way flight. The flight departs from Noi Bai Airport at 10:50AM and arrives in Bangkok at 12:40PM, whereas the return flight departs at 1:35PM from Suvarnabhumi Airport and arrives at Noi Bai Airport at 3:25PM.

Desmond Lin, Business Development Manager of VietJet Air stated that this air route is established to satisfy the increasing demand for traveling between Vietnam and Thailand in recent years. The airline also aims at establish a joint venue between Thailand’s Kan Airline and VietJet Air, called Thai VietJet Air. The first flight of this joint airline is expected to launch in the next six months using two Airbus A320.

Before VietJet Air, the Indonesian air carrier Lion Air has already operated budgeted flight in Thailand. Besides, Thailand, VietJet Air intend to expand its market to Singapore, Republic or Korea, Japan and Taiwan in the near future.
