UK travelers visiting Vietnam increases rapidly this summer

According to the online version of The Telegraph (UK), the number of travelers from the UK to Vietnam has continued to rise significantly this summer. This is supported by recent research conducted by the UK Post Office regarding the sale of Vietnamese currency, the Vietnam Dong (VND), within the UK.

The findings indicate that VND ranks first in terms of growth rate, showing an impressive increase of over 75% compared to the same period last year. Following closely is the Brazilian Real with a growth rate of approximately 65%. This remarkable growth in the demand for VND has encouraged more currency purchases for travel to Vietnam.

Andrew Brown from the UK Post Office explained that this surge could be attributed to the favorable exchange rate between the VND and the Euro, which allows UK travelers to stretch their budgets further when visiting Vietnam compared to other destinations. Additionally, the introduction of direct flights by the national carrier, Vietnam Airlines, that commenced in December 2024 is yet another factor attracting tourists from the UK to explore this beautiful S-shaped country.

Vietnam has established itself as a prime destination for international travelers, thanks to its rich cultural tourism offerings and relatively low travel costs compared to neighboring countries. This trend is illustrated by a substantial uptick in international tourist arrivals to Vietnam, not only from traditional markets but also from emerging markets such as the UK and Russia.
