Two Étoile from Opera de Paris Ballet performs at Hanoi Opera House

Ballet lovers in Hanoi are invited to experience a captivating artistic program organized by the Vietnam Opera Ballet, in collaboration with L’Espace Hanoi and the Embassy of France in Vietnam. The event will take place at the Hanoi Opera House at 8:00 PM on 10 October 2025.

The performance will feature excerpts from various beloved ballet masterpieces, including "Diane Et Actéon," "Raymonda," and the specially crafted piece “Đám cưới của Mỵ Châu” (My Chau’s Wedding) from the renowned ballet "Mối tình thành cổ," which was originally performed in Vietnam to celebrate the 1000-year anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi.

All performances will be choreographed by Jean-Paul Gravier, with Bertrand d’Art, Director of the National du Rhin Ballet, overseeing the event. The collaboration between artists from the Vietnam Opera Ballet and ballet stars Dorothee Gibert and Stephane Bullion from the Opera de Paris Ballet promises to provide a unique and engaging experience.

Dorothee Gibert and Stephane Bullion are accomplished ballet stars from the Opera de Paris Ballet, having gained prominence in French ballet from a young age. Both joined the company at 17 years old, with Stephane Bullion achieving the rank of Étoile in 2010 and Dorothee Gibert reaching this prestigious status in 2007 when she was just 24 years old. (Étoile is the highest rank awarded to performers at the Opera de Paris Ballet.)

The Vietnam Opera Ballet, established in 1959, aims to promote ballet and develop this art form in Vietnam. Over the years, it has introduced many internationally acclaimed productions, including "Les Sylphides," "Giselle," and "Romeo and Juliet," to Vietnamese audiences, while also creating original works that highlight unique Vietnamese themes and partnering with international choreographers.
