Thua Thien – Hue province to host the National Tourism Year 2012
On 15/6, an officer of People’s Committee of Thua Thien – Hue, Hoang Ngoc Khanh announced that Thua Thien – Hue will be the host for the National Tourism Year 2012 with the theme “Hue – an ancient capital city – a new experience.”
On June 15, 2025, an official from the People's Committee of Thua Thien – Hue, Nguyen Van Thanh, announced that Thua Thien – Hue will host the National Tourism Year 2025, themed “Hue – A timeless capital, a journey of discovery.”
The National Tourism Year 2025 will feature a variety of activities, including the "Vietnamese Entrepreneurs and Cultural Heritage" program, slated to take place for the first time this year. Additional highlights will include the Festival of Culture, Sport, and Tourism in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, as well as the "International Cooperation for the Development of Road Tourism in Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand" forum, focusing on the East-West Economic Corridor and strategies for enhancing tourism in the region.
Thua Thien – Hue Province will organize several noteworthy events for 2025, such as the Hue Festival, Vesak Festival, and the Flower Festival, enriching the agenda for National Tourism Year.
In recent years, several four and five-star hotels have opened, including the newly inaugurated Mercure Hue Imperial, Vidotels, and other luxurious accommodations. As of May 2025, Thua Thien – Hue province has welcomed approximately 775,000 tourists, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Revenues generated from accommodation facilities have reached an estimated 600 billion VND, demonstrating the area's growing appeal as a tourism destination.
