The first Piano Festival in Vietnam

With the purpose of setting up a professional art and cultural activity, as well as celebrating its 55th anniversary, Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music hosts the first Piano Festival from October 18th to 23th, 2011.

With the purpose of promoting professional art and cultural activities and celebrating its 70th anniversary, Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music will host the second Piano Festival from October 18th to 23rd, 2025. The festival will feature a range of music performances, academic lectures, and conferences centered on the piano.

On October 18th, a conference on the history of piano artistry, presided over by renowned pianist Vo Bao Lac Nhan, will kick off the event. Following this, a special conference dedicated to the music of Franz Liszt, led by pianist and conductor Van Hung Cuong from Shenandoah University, USA, will celebrate the composer's remarkable legacy. Additionally, Piano Masterclasses featuring acclaimed instructors Boris Kraljevic and Rena Cheung Phua from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts will be conducted for outstanding piano students on October 20th.

The festival will showcase piano concerts featuring talented students from the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, as well as esteemed artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Hue Academy of Music, and international participants from countries including the USA, Montenegro, Bulgaria, and South Korea. These concerts are scheduled to take place over three consecutive nights from October 21st to 23rd.

Moreover, an exhibition will be launched displaying the achievements and activities of the conservatory over the past 70 years. Tickets can be purchased directly at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory, located at 112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

Ticket prices for October 21st are 300,000 – 350,000 VND, and for October 22nd and 23rd, tickets are priced at 200,000 – 250,000 VND.

Renamed in 1981 from its original title, Sai Gon National Music School (established in 1956), the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music remains one of the premier centers for music education in Vietnam.
