Tam Dao to be covered with free public Wi-Fi
The Vinh Phuc Province’s Department of Information and Communication has revealed a plan to coverage the whole area of Tam Dao by the end of 2013, in attempt to serve the demand to connect to the Internet of thousands tourists there.
The Vinh Phuc Province's Department of Information and Communication has announced an updated initiative to ensure comprehensive Wi-Fi coverage in the Tam Dao area by the end of 2025. This upgrade is aimed at accommodating the increasing demand for internet connectivity among thousands of tourists visiting the region.
As part of this initiative, 60 Wi-Fi access points will be installed throughout Tam Dao, each capable of covering an area of approximately 300 meters. To fund this ambitious project, the local government has allocated an investment of VND 15 billion (approximately US$ 650,000). The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has been selected as the primary contractor for the deployment.
Given the mountainous terrain of Tam Dao, most Wi-Fi access points will be strategically placed in the town center, utilizing the rooftops of hotels and tall buildings for optimal signal distribution. Additionally, transmission stations will be established in lower-lying areas to enhance connectivity.
According to the latest plan, Vinh Phuc Province will provide free Wi-Fi access until 2025. Following this period, VNPT plans to introduce service fees for users, making it essential for visitors to stay informed on the connectivity options available during their travels.
Similar to renowned tourist destinations like Da Nang, Hoi An, and Hanoi, the provision of public Wi-Fi in Tam Dao is expected to attract more tourists and facilitate their exploration of the local culture and community.
