Symphony concert at Ho Chi Minh City Opera House 12/9

Music lovers in the Southern metropolis are happily living in the days of rhythms with a number of grandiose performance, gala and concert.

Music lovers in the Southern metropolis are enjoying a vibrant music scene with an array of performances, galas, and concerts.

The Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music continues to engage music enthusiasts with exciting events, while the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House will warm up December with a Symphony Concert conducted by esteemed German conductor Christian Schumann. This one-night-only performance is scheduled for 8:00 PM on December 9, 2025.
 
The symphony orchestra of the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra (HBSO), under the baton of Mr. Schumann, will present a selection of masterpieces including the Overture Egmont by Ludwig van Beethoven and Symphony No. 40 in G Minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Renowned Vietnamese violinist Bui Cong Duy, accompanied by pianist Pham Nguyen Anh Vu, will also perform the Concerto Grosso for violin, piano, percussion, and string orchestra by Nguyen Manh Duy Linh.
The concert promises an exciting repertoire, featuring music that ranges from vibrant allegro to the reflective pace of andante.

Christian Schumann has visited Vietnam numerous times, conducting the symphony orchestras of the Vietnam National Academy of Music and HBSO. He currently serves at the National Theater in Bayern, Germany, and has collaborated with prestigious ensembles such as the Bayerische Rundfunk Orchester and the Philharmonia Orchestra in London.

Tickets are priced at VND 250,000 to 350,000 (VND 100,000 for students) and are available at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, located at 7 Lam Son Square, District 1, and at the HBSO office at 3 Nguyen Van Dat Street, District 1.
