Founded in 2009, the Hanoi Writers’ Collective is known as an international group of writing lovers; some are poets, some are novelists, others are famous bloggers and the rest are non-fiction writers and all of them share their love for the chaotic city, Hanoi. Whether it is only six months or even six years, the period of time that the writers have settled down in the city is long enough for them to picture their life and feelings about the city in the most vivid way. Via poems, fiction, essays and artworks in Strange Roots, readers are certain to discover day by day the amazing, charming and chaotic city as well as the way "strange people" set their "strange roots" in the fertile soil.
