Soc Trang invests more in tourism

In an effort to fully leverage the tourism potential of the province, the local administration of Soc Trang has approved a renewed proposal to enhance and develop its tourism sector. This updated plan is a key priority for the province over the next few years and aims to attract a larger number of visitors.

The plan consists of various strategic actions, with a strong focus on diversifying tourism products, such as eco-tourism, cultural tourism, and shopping tourism. Significant investments will also be made in human resources, including the introduction of more professional training programs for those involved in the tourism industry.

Located in the Mekong River Delta region, Soc Trang Province boasts numerous advantages for developing a vibrant tourism industry. The area is characterized by its breathtaking landscapes, rich biodiversity, and deep cultural and historical significance. As of the first five months of 2025, Soc Trang welcomed approximately 150,000 visitors, achieving 60% of its annual target, and marking a 22% increase compared to the same period last year. International arrivals reached 8,500, accounting for 55% of the yearly plan, signifying a 30% rise compared to 2024.
