Quang Nam calls for tourism investment
In the recent 5 months, Central Quang Nam province has been running four tourism projects with a total capital USD 108 million, shared Doan Ngoc Minh from the provincial and investment department.
In the past five months, Central Quang Nam province has launched four tourism projects with a total investment of USD 108 million, according to Doan Ngoc Minh from the provincial Department of Planning and Investment.
Minh noted that, in addition to these four major initiatives, the department has also approved 32 smaller projects across various sectors, including textiles, forestry processing, rubber plantations, and ore exploitation, which together amount to USD 181 million.
“Tourism investment projects have progressed the most rapidly, constituting approximately 60 percent of the province’s total investment initiatives over the last five months. Among these, the Phu Ninh eco-tourism, Agribank Hoi An, and Trung Phu Hai resorts have garnered the largest investments,” added Minh.
He also revealed that Quang Nam has welcomed a total of 93 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with an overall investment of USD 5.2 million. Notably, USD 4.2 million has been allocated to 20 projects within the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.
Quang Nam is emerging as one of Vietnam's premier destinations, boasting a variety of UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the ancient town of Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary, and the Cham Island Biosphere Reserve. In 2024, the province attracted 3.1 million tourists, with approximately 1.5 million being international visitors, contributing USD 75 million in revenue to the local tourism sector.
Investors from around the globe have established 90 international standard hotels and resorts, providing a total of 6,000 rooms and creating around 17,500 jobs for local residents.
Quang Nam aims to solidify its position as the center of the tourism industry in Central Vietnam by 2025, according to Tran Minh Ca, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.
