Quan họ folk singing promoted in Paris

Quan họ is a Vietnam’s antiphonal singing between men and women, created by Kinh ethnic group in the Northern provinces of Bắc Ninh and Bắc Giang long time ago.

Quan họ is Vietnam’s antiphonal singing tradition performed between men and women, originating from the Kinh ethnic group in the Northern provinces of Bắc Ninh and Bắc Giang. This unique and captivating style of singing has become an integral and highly anticipated part of spring festivals in many northern villages of Vietnam.

Despite being recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, Quan họ remains relatively unknown to many people in France and other foreign countries.

In an effort to raise awareness and appreciation for this traditional art form, the Vietnam Institute of Culture and Arts Studies, in cooperation with the Vietnam Cultural Center in France, as well as the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Bắc Ninh and Bắc Giang, announce an upcoming Quan họ exhibition and performance in France.
