The President of New7Wonders, Mr. Bernard Weber, recently concluded his visit to Halong Bay on September 27, 2025, to award a certificate recognizing this stunning destination as one of the nominees in the final round of the New7Wonders of Nature campaign. During his trip, he took a brief tour of Halong Bay to witness firsthand the breathtaking beauty of this natural masterpiece.
Weber expressed his profound admiration for the majesty of Halong Bay, stating, “Halong Bay possesses a landscape that is unmatched anywhere else in the world.” He encouraged the Vietnamese public to participate in the voting process, highlighting the importance of the new SMS and online voting systems to secure a favorable outcome in the final round.
Surpassing more than 440 destinations from 200 countries globally, Halong Bay now stands alongside 27 other natural landscapes in the final round of the New7Wonders of Nature campaign. The Vietnamese government views this achievement as a significant milestone, intensifying its efforts to garner more votes for Halong Bay as the voting period draws to a close.
The New7Wonders of Nature campaign initially launched in 2007 by the New7Wonders organization, following the successful election of the New7Wonders of the World. This campaign seeks to recognize spectacular natural wonders worldwide, enhance public awareness of these extraordinary sites, and promote conservation efforts for these invaluable natural heritages.
