Precious painting collection to be exhibited at Museum of Fine Arts
A collection consisting of precious paintings by more than 30 most renowned Vietnamese painters is about to be exhibited at Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts (97A Pho Duc Chinh Street, District 1), from October 7th to 14th, 2011.
A collection consisting of precious paintings by more than 30 most renowned Vietnamese painters is about to be exhibited at Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts (97A Pho Duc Chinh Street, District 1), from October 7th to 14th, 2011.
Created by various talented artists from Indochina Fine Arts College such as Bui Xuan Phai, To Ngoc Van, Vu Giang Huong and Nguyen Tuong Lan, the sketches and paintings are the faithful and lively reflection of Vietnam life at the second half of 20th century.
To the public as a whole and to the ones who have special interest in Hanoi street pictures by Bui Xuan Phai, distinctive oil paintings by To Ngoc Van or special silk paintings by Vu Giang Huong, the exhibiton is a golden chance to appreciate these pre-eminent painters’ works.
The collection, which was collected by Petro Paris, the commercial counselor of Italy to Vietnam in the 80s, is now owned by Tira Vanichtheeranont, a Vietnam- Thailand culture exchange and friendship activist. This is the first time the collection is presented to the public, and it is considered as a gift to celebrate 35 years of Vietnam- Thailand diplomatic relation establishment.
