Precious painting collection to be exhibited at Museum of Fine Arts
A collection consisting of precious paintings by more than 30 most renowned Vietnamese painters is about to be exhibited at Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts (97A Pho Duc Chinh Street, District 1), from October 7th to 14th, 2011.
A remarkable collection featuring exceptional artworks by over 30 of Vietnam's most prominent painters is set to be exhibited at Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts (97A Pho Duc Chinh Street, District 1), from October 7th to 14th, 2025.
The collection showcases the talents of renowned artists associated with the Indochina Fine Arts College, including Bui Xuan Phai, To Ngoc Van, Vu Giang Huong, and Nguyen Tuong Lan. Their sketches and paintings serve as vibrant reflections of Vietnamese life during the latter half of the 20th century.
This exhibition presents a valuable opportunity for the public, particularly those with a keen interest in Hanoi street scenes by Bui Xuan Phai, the distinctive oil paintings of To Ngoc Van, or the exquisite silk artworks of Vu Giang Huong. It is a unique chance to appreciate the masterpieces of these eminent artists.
The collection was initially gathered by Petro Paris, the commercial counselor of Italy to Vietnam during the 1980s, and is currently owned by Tira Vanichtheeranont, a notable advocate for cultural exchange and friendship between Vietnam and Thailand. This exhibit marks the first public display of the collection and serves as a significant celebration of 40 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.
