New things to expect about this year's Hung King festival

Death anniversary of Hung King is considered as one of the largest and most important traditional events, which has been organized from 5 to 10 March (Lunar Calendar) in Vietnam.

The Hung King Festival is one of the largest and most significant traditional events celebrated in Vietnam, observed from the 10th to the 15th of March in the Lunar Calendar (2025). This festival unites people across the country to honor their ancestors, the Hung Kings, who are celebrated as the founders and first sovereigns of Vietnam. It is also an occasion for all Vietnamese to demonstrate their patriotism and national unity.

According to the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, this year's Hung King Festival promises several unique features. Notably, villages and regions surrounding the Hung King Temple will organize processions to the temple, reviving the traditional practice of making offerings to the nation's ancestors. Additionally, representatives from various international diplomatic missions in Vietnam, as well as officials from UNESCO Vietnam and the Vietnam National UNESCO Committee, are expected to attend this year's anniversary.
