Music nights at L’Espace to commemorate Trinh Cong Son

The show features a refreshing approach to Trinh's style, performed by three young artists: Giang Trang (vocal), Anh Tú (violinist), and Anh Hoàng (guitar). Giang Trang has previously performed at a music night commemorating the 20th anniversary of the composer’s death in 2021. This revival aims to infuse youthful energy into Trinh’s emotional and evocative songs, which resonate deeply with listeners who have experienced significant emotional journeys. 

 

 

Three artists perform in Lênh đênh nhớ phố

 

Trinh Cong Son (1939 – 2001) is the author of over 400 songs and remains one of the most acclaimed and renowned Vietnamese musicians. His melodies, characterized by unique rhythms and sophisticated lyrics, have garnered him fame not only in Vietnam but also in many other countries. He pioneered a new genre of Vietnamese music simply called “Trịnh,” named in his honor. It is common to find coffee houses dedicated to Trịnh music in major cities across Vietnam, such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which are often bustling, particularly on nights featuring live performances.
