More caves found in Phong Nha

Amazing Phong Nha – Ke Bang Park’s cave and grotto system (Quang Binh province in central of Vietnam) has just welcomed a new discovery on 22 caves, after an exploration of British Cave Research Association (BCRA). The beautiful news is released on April 1.

The breathtaking Phong Nha – Ke Bang Park’s cave and grotto system, located in Quang Binh province in central Vietnam, has recently celebrated the discovery of 22 new caves. This exciting announcement was made public on April 1, 2025, following explorations conducted by the British Cave Research Association (BCRA).

Dr. Howard Limbert, Chief of BCRA, reported that the newly discovered caves range in length from 400 meters to 4 kilometers and vary in width from 60 to 100 meters. Remarkably, these caves remain untouched and display a stunning array of beautiful stalactites.

Phong Nha – Ke Bang's cave and grotto system, which was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site in 2003, is celebrated for its exceptional natural beauty. It features some of the longest underground rivers, the tallest and widest caves, the longest sandbanks, and an abundance of magnificent stalactites.

The area's continued preservation is attributed to carefully considered tourism investment, ensuring that the natural beauty of Phong Nha – Ke Bang is sustained for future generations. It remains an ideal destination for explorers seeking untamed adventure.

In late 2023, two additional caves with breathtaking scenes were inadvertently discovered by highway construction workers in a nearby region, further highlighting Vietnam’s rich tourist potential. This continues to echo the sentiment captured in the nation’s tourism slogan: "Vietnam - The Hidden Charm."
