Miss Earth 2012 back to Vietnam

After the beautifully choreographed, highly acclaimed success at Nha Trang in 2010, Miss Earth pageant contest will return to Vietnam central coast in 2012, this time at Ninh Thuan – another spectacle of Earth’s natural beauty.

After the beautifully choreographed and highly acclaimed success in Nha Trang in 2010, the Miss Earth pageant returned to Vietnam's central coast in 2012, this time in Ninh Thuan, showcasing yet another spectacle of Earth's natural beauty.

The 2011 contest was originally scheduled for Thailand, but severe flooding in the region forced a change of plans. The pageant was relocated back to its homeland, the Philippines, much to the disappointment of the Thai organizers and participants, highlighting the challenges faced in promoting environmental awareness.

Miss Ecuador, Olga Alava, took the crown on December 3rd, while Vietnam’s contestant, Phan Thi Mo, did not make it to the top 16 in Manila that year. In 2010, the lovely Luu Thi Diem Huong made it to the top 5. Organizers for the 2012 event aimed to create what they called “the best stage of its kind” in Southeast Asia.

In recent years, Vietnam has seen an increase in the number of beauty pageants, leading some observers to claim that the public is becoming overwhelmed by the sheer number of titles available. Many hope that Ninh Thuan can replicate the astounding success of Nha Trang 2010.
