Lim festival to focus on traditional custom

This year Lim festival is held at Lim Town and some communes within Bac Ninh province, including Noi Due and Lien Bao, on February 3rd and 4th, 2012 (12th and 13th day of the first lunar year).

This year Lim Festival is held at Lim Town and some communes within Bac Ninh province, including Noi Due and Lien Bao, on February 3rd and 4th, 2012 (12th and 13th day of the first lunar year). As usual, the heart of the festival - Lim Hill is where main activities such as important rituals, art performances and entertainments are taking place.

Coming to Lim Festival is being lost in the world of Vietnamese folk singing called Quan ho. Numerous and continuous Quan ho performances throughout two days of the festival promised to give tourists a big chance to enjoy and appreciate the unique beauty of this folk singing.

As a spring festival that people come to relax after a hard-working year and to celebrate the Lunar New Year, Lim Festival offers tourists a bunch of exciting folk games such as swinging, breaking the clay pot, human chess, and cock fighting. Traditional cultural activities in spring time like calligraphy, poetry review are either expected.  

Quan ho folk singing - the soul of Lim festival

According to Tran Quang Ung, the chief organizer of Lim festival 2012, the up coming event is promised to establish a record of the festival with the largest number of people wearing Quan ho costume, and singing the same folk songs.

Lim, one of the most famous spring festival in the north of Vietnam is a cultural specialty of Bac Ninh province, the homeland of Quan ho folk singing. Formerly known as Kinh Bac, the richest culture land of Vietnam,  a whole typical Vietnam is present here without any help from a tour guide. Just come and experience Vietnamese yourselves.
