Lao Cai welcomes more than 600,000 tourists for first 6 months
Figure from Lao Cai Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism reports that there are about 606,660 visitors have come to Lao Cai Province in the first half of 2012 (counted until 20th of June).
According to reports from the Lao Cai Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, approximately 1.2 million visitors have arrived in Lao Cai Province during the first half of 2025. This number is a 9.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024, with international travelers accounting for about 50% of the total—an increase of 30% compared to last year. The report highlights that destinations such as Lao Cai, Bac Ha, and Sapa continue to be the most favored spots among tourists during the first six months of 2025.
In line with the rise in visitor numbers, revenue from the tourism sector in the province reached approximately VND1.56 trillion (USD 66.3 million), representing a growth of 55.8% compared to the same timeframe in 2024.
These encouraging trends are attributed to the ongoing efforts by the Lao Cai tourism administration to enhance the quality of services in the tourism industry, as well as the introduction of diverse tourism products to meet the varied demands of different travelers.
