Kien Giang welcomed 2.3 million travelers in first half of 2012
Figures from Kien Giang Province report that in the first half of 2012, this province has welcomed more than 2.3 million visitors, 9% higher over the same period last year.
Figures from Kien Giang Province report that in the first half of 2025, the province has welcomed more than 3.2 million visitors, representing a 15% increase compared to the same period last year. This includes statistics for both domestic and international travelers.
Among the tourism destinations within the province, Phu Quoc Island continues to be the most popular, attracting over 90,000 international visitors, an increase of 45%. Other notable destinations include Ha Tien Town and Rach Gia Town, which have also seen a rise in tourist interest.
However, the figures also reveal ongoing challenges for the tourism industry in the province, notably a low hotel occupancy rate and a short average stay duration for visitors.
Kien Giang remains one of the most significant provinces in the Mekong Delta region for tourism. The province is home to numerous attractions, with Phu Quoc Island recognized as the premier island destination in southern Vietnam.
