Starting August the 2nd, tourists who arrive in Hanoi will have a chance to gaze with awe at more than 140 historical jade items in the collection named Vietnamese Antique Jade, which will be on display at the Hanoi museum.

The items at the exhibit are only one part of the jade collection owned by Louis Finot Musem before 1954, and a small part of the large collection of thousands of items at the Hanoi Musem. Here, visitors will see many jewelry, royal seal, Buddha statue, and tools made of jade or sword and paintings inlayed with gems. These artifacts not only draw attention by sheer beauty but also gather interest through their historical value. Some items in the collection are more than one thousand years old, and many come from the Nguyen dynasty’s royal treasure.

The exhibit is seen as a positive move of Hanoi Museum after a long grand opening time with limited number of activities. The event's organizers hope to attract both native Hanoians, who are in severe lack of entertainment, and foreign tourists and expats who happen to be in town during the period.

This is another good news for tourists, especially jewelry or history lovers, as the rest of the collection at Hanoi museum will also be on display soon at 1 Trang Tien street.
