The ancient city of Hoi An is proud to host the 9th Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange event on August 21st and 23rd, 2025, in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and the Japan Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam. Following the success of eight festivals since 2003, this upcoming event is set to showcase outstanding performances and further promote the strong relationship between the two countries.
A series of cultural and sports exchange activities will highlight the unique cultural traits of both Japan and Vietnam. This is an excellent opportunity for audiences to enjoy spectacular Japanese musical performances, appreciate the exquisite culinary arts from the Land of the Rising Sun, and admire the elegant beauty of traditional clothing such as Kimono and Yukata.
Well-known Japanese art troupes, including the Iwami Kagura royal dance troupe, Daisuwa Taiko drum troupe, and Sakai City’s lion dance troupe, will present their most impressive artistic works during the event.
Simultaneously, Vietnam will leverage this event to showcase its rich customs and traditions, featuring dragon dances, folk music performances, floating lantern festivals, culinary activities, street exhibitions of photographs, and exciting cross-river boat races. Hoi An, with its exceptional charm and unique blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese cultures, remains a top-tier destination for tourists from around the world, especially the Japanese.
