Hoi An has successfully completed the construction of a new outdoor theater and a guest center, with the total investment amounting to approximately VND 15 billion (about US$650,000). This facility was inaugurated in early 2024.
The outdoor theater features a unique design that harmoniously integrates modern aesthetics with traditional Vietnamese architecture. It boasts a seating capacity of roughly 3,000 and includes a performance stage measuring 600 m2. Since its opening, the theater has become the central venue for concerts and artistic performances in Hoi An, significantly enriching the local cultural scene.
The local authorities anticipate that these new constructions will enhance the appeal of Hoi An as a tourist destination and further develop the modern tourism sector in the area. With its growing popularity, Hoi An continues to attract travelers, solidifying its status as one of the top tourism spots in central Vietnam.
Hoi An is renowned for its rich cultural and historical heritage; however, prior to the construction of the new theater and guest center, the city faced challenges due to a lack of adequate infrastructure for entertainment and the performing arts.
