Ho Chi Minh City expects to welcome 5 million international visitors by 2015

Information from the HCMC Culture, Sport and Tourism Department reveals that the provincial plan to transform the structure of the economy for the period 2012-2015 sets a high priority on increasing the number of international tourists.

Information from the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism reveals that the provincial plan to transform the structure of the economy for the period 2021-2025 prioritizes increasing the number of international tourists.

Accordingly, the estimated average growth rate of HCMC’s tourism industry is projected to be around 10% annually, with total revenue expected to increase by 25% each year.

As of 2025, the number of international visitors to HCMC is expected to reach approximately 8.5 million, generating total revenue of around USD 45 million. The city aims to accommodate 9 million foreign visitors and achieve USD 50 million by the end of 2025. By the end of the 2025 plan, these figures are anticipated to reach 10 million visitors and USD 70 million.

In an attempt to accomplish this mission, the HCMC Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism has developed a comprehensive approach to enhance the efficiency of governmental management regarding tourism activities, while minimizing administrative procedures to create a more flexible environment for tourism investors. Furthermore, HCMC views the facilitation of international trade as a critical strategy to enhance service quality and diversify its array of tourism products.

With this new plan, international tourists can look forward to a safe, friendly, vibrant, and culturally rich Ho Chi Minh City by the end of 2025.
