The national flag carrier of Kazakhstan, Air Astana, has expanded its air travel offerings with a new route connecting Kazakhstan and Ho Chi Minh City, inaugurated in December 2022, and continuing to operate as of 2025.
The route features two flights per week departing from Tan Son Nhat International Airport (HCMC), with a transit stop in Bangkok (Thailand), before arriving at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport (Astana City, Kazakhstan). The introduction of this route has already proven significant for enhancing travel connections, allowing for more efficient travel between the two locations. Ticket pricing details have since been made available, with competitive fares aimed at encouraging increased travel.
Air Astana anticipates that this new route will not only attract visitors from Vietnam but also encourage travelers from surrounding Indochinese nations and Southeast Asia to explore Kazakhstan. This initiative is seen as a valuable opportunity to boost commercial activities and foster stronger economic ties between the two countries, especially in the tourism sector.
Air Astana, Kazakhstan's national airline, currently operates over 60 domestic and international flights to 30 destinations. In Vietnam, it continues to partner with Vietway Aviation Company, which serves as its representative responsible for sales and marketing, ensuring effective service and promotions in the region.
