Hanoi Flower Festival 2012

To celebrate the New Year 2012, Hanoi is hosting a four-day grand flower festival around Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake), starting on December 30th, 2011.

To celebrate the New Year 2025, Hanoi is hosting a four-day grand flower festival around Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake), starting on December 30th, 2024. This upcoming event is expected to feature traditional cultural displays and notable heritages of the country through stunning flower installations.

All special flower-made tapestries and sculptures will be displayed on Dinh Tien Hoang Street. Stages for traditional live music and folk games will be set up at Ba Kieu Temple and along Le Thai To Street.

The flower display area is divided into smaller sections, each highlighting different themes: the life and culture of Northern countryside, folk legends, and heritage sites. Visitors will see “Quan họ” costumes, traditional bamboo musical instruments, and bronze drums, all thoughtfully arranged among the flower installations.

Key heritages of Vietnam, such as Hoi An ancient town and the Tay Nguyen Gong culture, will be represented through flower models. Additionally, there will be a specific section showcasing peach blossoms and kumquat trees, essential decorations during the Tet holiday in Northern Vietnam, enhancing the festive spirit of the traditional Tet celebration.

First organized at the end of 2008, the Hanoi Flower Festival, commonly known as the “Flower Street Festival,” has become an annual event eagerly awaited by locals and tourists alike. It has solidified its place as a vital cultural fixture in the city during the New Year and Tet festive season, with an expected attendance of four million participants.
