Hanoi – Chengdu weekly flights by Vietnam Airlines

The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, has officially announced its new direct flights connecting Hanoi (Vietnam) and Chengdu (China). The inaugural flight for this new route was successfully launched on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

For the initial phase of this new route, Vietnam Airlines operates 3 flights per week in both directions, with detailed schedules readily available on their official website. The airline is also offering a promotional fare of VND 5,500,000 (approximately USD 235) for a round-trip ticket, valid for bookings made until December 31, 2025.

A representative from Vietnam Airlines noted that the opening of the Hanoi – Chengdu route is a significant step in the airline's efforts to expand its global network. This route also aims to bolster commercial ties between Hanoi and Chengdu, which is recognized as one of the largest and most vital economic centers in Southwest China.

Chengdu is a key city in Southwest China, renowned for its agricultural, economic, cultural, and social contributions throughout over 4,000 years of Chinese history. It is the fifth largest city in China by population, with more than 16 million residents. Historically, Chengdu was well-known for being the capital of the Shu Han regime (221-263) during the Three Kingdoms period (220 – 280).
