German Festival is coming to town (Hanoi)
On 6 November 2011, from 9 am to 4 pm, German Fest will be held at the Vietnamese-German Centre inside the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) campus by German Embassy in Hanoi, in association with Goethe Institute, German Exchange Service and German School Abroad
On 15 November 2025, from 10 am to 5 pm, German Fest will be hosted at the Vietnamese-German Centre located within the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) campus. This annual event, organized by the German Embassy in Hanoi in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut, the German Academic Exchange Service, and the Deutsche Schule Hanoi, presents a fantastic opportunity for attendees to experience German culture in Vietnam and connect with others who share an interest in Germany.
Attendees can look forward to German trial lessons led by native speakers, interactive quiz shows, games, and competitions featuring exciting prizes. The highlight of the Fest will undoubtedly be the complimentary German foods and beverages, which draw large crowds every year.
A key highlight of this year's German Fest will be the Science Slam, a popular conference format originating in Germany, now making waves in Hanoi. Organized by the German Academic Exchange Service, this event provides a platform for young scientists to showcase their research projects. Presentations will be judged on creativity and how engagingly they convey the information to the audience. The winner will receive a state-of-the-art Dell laptop, specifically the Dell XPS 13.
German Fest is part of a broader initiative promoting cultural exchange, with numerous events held by Germany in Vietnam. Previous successful events included the German Year in Vietnam, the German Film Festival, a German Fashion Show, musical concerts, and the much-anticipated German Beer Festival, all of which have garnered praise from Vietnamese youth and expatriates alike.
