Free wi-fi to cover Hue
The People Committee of Hue city has approved a project of VNPT Thua Thien Hue to set-up more wi-fi access points in numerous public destinations in this city.
The People Committee of Hue City has recently approved a project by VNPT Thua Thien Hue to establish additional Wi-Fi access points across numerous public locations in the city.
The project is currently in the planning phase and is expected to receive an investment of approximately VND 30 billion. In order to achieve its objective, numerous Wi-Fi access points will be installed at key locations throughout the city, including tourist attractions, restaurants, train and bus stations, and hospitals.
This initiative is viewed as a significant effort by the authorities in Hue and other provinces in the central region of Vietnam to enhance public services for both local residents and visitors, ultimately boosting the tourism industry in the area. In early 2023, a similar project was completed in Hoi An, expanding Wi-Fi coverage throughout the town with an investment of several billion VND. Additionally, in 2022, VNPT Hue initiated a project to repurpose 30 abandoned telephone booths in the city to serve as emergency phone stations, benefiting both locals and tourists.
