To celebrate the 20th Vietnam Film Festival, the Vietnam Department of Cinema and the National Cinema Center will co-host a movie week from December 2nd to 8th, 2025. During this movie week, a selection of films will be presented to showcase the best of Vietnamese cinema. Invitations can be obtained at the National Cinema Center, located at 87 Lang Ha Street, Hanoi.

The recently completed film “Mùi Cỏ Cháy” (The Smell of Burned Grass) has been chosen as the opening film for this year's movie week. This film, inspired by the diaries of war martyrs such as Nguyen Van Thac, Dang Thuy Tram, and Hoang Thuong Lan, vividly depicts the Vietnam War, engaging audiences, particularly younger generations and international viewers unfamiliar with the historical context. “Mùi Cỏ Cháy” serves as a heartfelt tribute to the heroic youth of Vietnam who sacrificed their lives during the American War for independence and reunification.

The diverse genres represented—from social dramas to romantic comedies—are expected to deliver an exciting cinematic experience.
