Foreign arrivals up 9.4% in eight months

Figure from Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism reports that the number of international travelers visiting Vietnam this August is 525,292, which is 6.5% higher than that in July, but 4.3% lower than this period last year.

Also, for the first 8 months of 2012, there are about 4,384,998 foreigners coming to Vietnam, 9.4 % higher over the same period last year.

Among these visitors, those who used aviation services contributes largest amount in August with 442,292 passengers, increases by 8.6% compared to July. However, the number of travelers using cruise marks the largest increase with 11.4% higher than July, and 11.8% higher than August 2011.

In term of markets, China continues to be the nation with highest number of travelers coming to Vietnam with over 120,514 tourists, followed by Korea (59,255), Japan (46,842) and The US (30,601).
