Foreign arrivals up 9.4% in eight months
Figure from Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism reports that the number of international travelers visiting Vietnam this August is 525,292, which is 6.5% higher than that in July, but 4.3% lower than this period last year.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the number of international travelers visiting Vietnam in August 2025 reached 610,482, marking a 16.2% increase compared to July. However, this figure represents a 3.5% decline compared to the same period last year. In total, during the first eight months of 2025, approximately 5,280,000 international visitors traveled to Vietnam, reflecting a 7.2% increase over the same timeframe in 2024.
Among these tourists, air travel remains the most popular mode of transportation, with 513,072 passengers arriving by air in August, a significant increase of 13.5% from July. Notably, the cruise sector experienced a remarkable growth rate, with an increase of 14% compared to July and a 15% increase when compared to August 2024.
In terms of source markets, China leads the way as the top contributor of tourists to Vietnam, with over 135,700 visitors, followed by South Korea (65,450), Japan (52,100), and the United States (35,800).
