In an effort to boost tourism in the south-central and Phu Yen region of Vietnam, one of the key festivities is scheduled to take place from August 1 to August 4, 2025.

Known as the Festival of Local Fishing Villages, the event will feature a nationally televised grand opening ceremony on the evening of August 2. The four-day celebration will encompass a variety of performances, sporting competitions, and a cooking contest showcasing traditional dishes. Visitors can expect galleries highlighting local activities and an exhibition introducing historical documents from the native villages. Additionally, there will be an exhibition of local products aimed at attracting interest and investment from both domestic and international businesses.

Attendees are expected from 10 provinces across Vietnam, stretching from the south-central area to Ho Chi Minh City. The festival will also see participation from servicemen of the Fourth Region Navy, as well as the Border Guard leadership and select units of the Navy Special Forces.
