Dragon Year is coming to Vietnam soon and various artistic activities related to this ritual animal are waiting for visitors.

The Year of the Dragon is approaching in Vietnam, and a variety of artistic activities celebrating this mythical creature await visitors. One noteworthy event is the Dragon Painting Exhibition, presented by artist Nghiem Diep Anh, taking place at the 3D Building on Duy Tan Street in Hanoi. This exhibition is among the highlights for Tet holiday celebrations in 2025.

A collection of 19 dragon-themed paintings by Nghiem Diep Anh will be open to the public from January 3 to January 10, 2025. These paintings stand out because they not only showcase traditional elements of Eastern culture but also offer fresh interpretations of dragon lore, presenting these majestic creatures in vibrant colors and relatable narratives.

Unlike in many Western cultures where dragons are often depicted as malevolent beings, in Vietnam and other Asian cultures, dragons are revered as symbols of prosperity and good fortune. This cultural difference explains their prevalence in various ritualistic settings, including pagodas, temples, royal palaces, and tombs. With the Year of the Dragon upon us, these representations will be celebrated even more, highlighting their significance in Vietnamese heritage.
