Exhibition “Impression on Sapa” by To Ngoc Thanh to come up

The exhibition showcasing 34 oil paintings themed “Impression on Sapa” by artist To Ngoc Thanh, the son of the renowned To Ngoc Van, is set to open at the Tu Do Gallery in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday, 10^th September 2025, running until 28^th September. This exhibition aims to portray the vibrant landscapes of Sapa, highlighting its stunning scenery, traditional customs, and everyday life activities.

Sapa is celebrated as a serene and picturesque destination, often referred to as a four-season paradise on earth by countless tourists. This exhibition promises to uncover a lesser-known side of Sapa, allowing visitors to experience the essence of this enchanting town—a beauty that may feel familiar yet elusive. Through the artist's perspective, Sapa transcends being merely a harmonious town; it is a place alive with striking contrasts, particularly under the gentle warmth of spring sunlight.

To Ngoc Thanh embarked on his artistic journey in his early childhood. Currently residing in Hanoi, he has a profound desire to return to the northern mountainous regions, where his family sought refuge during the national resistance in 1946. The exhibition is anticipated to reflect his deep appreciation for the mountainous landscapes and forests, as well as his concerns regarding the rapid changes confronting this beloved area in the near future.
