European linguistic day at Goethe Institute Hanoi this weekend
Linguists and language interaction lovers in Hanoi will be delighted to know that European Language Day is held at Goethe Institute Hanoi on two days, 14 and 15 October 2011.
Linguists and language enthusiasts in Hanoi will be excited to learn that European Language Day will be celebrated at the Goethe Institute Hanoi on 14 and 15 October 2025. This event is organized in collaboration with a variety of cultural institutes in Hanoi, including the Goethe Institute, British Council, Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, and the Cervantes Institute. The participation of embassies from countries such as Italy, Austria, Spain, France, and Hungary ensures a vibrant and engaging experience.
The first day focuses primarily on linguistic presentations, lectures, and discussions covering a wide range of topics, including linguistic projects and the significance of language diversity within European cultures. Esteemed language experts from Vietnam and various European nations will participate, including Professor Nguyen Quoc Hung, Vice-President of Hanoi University, Professor Jean-Marie Klinkenberg from the University of Liège (Belgium), Professor Jurgen Quetz from Goethe University Frankfurt, and Dr. Georg Heindl, the Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam.
On the second day, the event shifts towards more interactive activities for the general public. Each participating country will have the opportunity to introduce its language and motivate attendees to explore learning opportunities. Participants will also have the chance to gain fundamental knowledge of several enchanting European languages through short courses and visual materials, including posters, films, and images provided by the organizers.
No registration or fees are required to attend the event.
