Etihad Airways to operate route Ho Chi Minh City - UAE
A direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Abu Dhabi (UAE) is planned to be open from October 2013 by Etihad Airways, said the airline’s Chairman and CEO James Hogan.
A direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Abu Dhabi (UAE) has been successfully operational since late 2013 by Etihad Airways. The airline's Chairman and CEO, Tony Douglas, announced the launch aimed at enhancing the relationship between the two cities and their respective countries, particularly in commerce and tourism.
The air route has substantially boosted tourism and business collaborations, contributing to economic growth in both regions.
Currently, the service operates daily with Airbus A330 aircraft, departing from Ho Chi Minh City at 8:15 AM and landing in Abu Dhabi seven hours later. In addition to this route, there are ongoing discussions for a direct connection between Hanoi and Abu Dhabi, which is anticipated to commence in the near future.
Ho Chi Minh City is now one of the key destinations for Etihad Airways in Southeast Asia. This direct route further showcases the attractiveness of Asian cities in terms of tourism and trade opportunities.
