On March 29, 2025, Thinh Hung Trade & Tourism Co. Ltd officially launched its fleet of 15 electric vehicles to serve tourists in Da Nang. This marks the first time this coastal city has utilized electric vehicles for tourism transport.
The project, which has a total investment of VND 20 billion, aims to offer a total of 100 electric vehicles. In 2025, the initial 15 vehicles represent an investment of VND 3.7 billion and are primarily employed along two popular tourist routes in Da Nang: the first route from Pham Van Dong Street, passing through Truong Sa to Son Tra Peninsula, and the second route from Pham Van Dong Street to the Marble Mountains.
The proposed rental rates are VND 300,000 (approximately US$ 13)/hour, VND 400,000 for 2 hours, and VND 500,000 for 3 hours. For reservations exceeding 5 hours, a discount of VND 100,000 is applied for each additional hour. Each electric vehicle is designed to accommodate a maximum of 5 passengers at one time.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, Director of Thinh Hung Co. Ltd, stated that the initiative was launched to meet the growing demand for transportation within Da Nang's tourist areas, while also contributing to the reduction of environmental pollution. “We plan to expand our service to include other popular tourist areas in Da Nang, such as Bach Dang Street and Thuan Phuoc Bridge,” Mrs. Nga commented.
As Vietnam’s fifth largest city, Da Nang is renowned for being one of the most tourist-friendly destinations. In recent years, the provincial government has vigorously pursued policies for environmentally sustainable urban development, aiming to transform Da Nang into a cleaner, greener city. Part of this initiative includes promoting electric vehicles as a viable mode of transport, thereby helping to combat pollution and enhance the overall tourist experience.
