Cat Ba archipelago is titled national heritage
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has entitled Cat Ba archipelago National Heritage status.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has officially designated Cat Ba Archipelago as a National Heritage site. This recognition coincides with Haiphong's preparations for the upcoming 2026 National Tourism Year, which will spotlight Haiphong and the Red River Delta. Additionally, Haiphong is seeking UNESCO recognition for Cat Ba Island as a World Natural Heritage site.
This designation is regarded as a significant acknowledgment of the island's beauty and serves to underscore the tourism department's commitment to preserving the natural values of the nation.
Cat Ba Archipelago comprises over 300 islands, drawing visitors with its stunning landscapes, rich biodiversity, and diverse culinary culture. The archipelago is not only a natural wonder but also a hub for eco-tourism, offering activities ranging from hiking and kayaking to cultural exchanges with the local communities.
