Brunei Cuisine Festival in Hanoi

To celebrate the Independence Day of Brunei (February 23rd), the Embassy of Brunei in Vietnam, in coordination with the five-star Melia Hanoi Hotel organize Brunei Cuisine Festival at spacious El Patio Restaurant from February 24th to 26th, 2012.

To celebrate the Independence Day of Brunei (February 23rd), the Brunei Embassy in Vietnam, in coordination with the five-star Melia Hanoi Hotel, is organizing the Brunei Cuisine Festival at the spacious El Patio Restaurant from February 24th to 26th, 2025.

The festival features exquisite dinners prepared by professional Brunei chefs, running from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm over the three days. Attendees will have the chance to enjoy popular Brunei dishes such as Satay (grilled beef skewers with satay sauce), kelupis (steamed glutinous rice cake), and ambuyat (a transparent sago paste).

According to current reports, Brunei gastronomy is a fusion of Malaysian cuisine enhanced by flavors from Chinese and Indian culinary traditions. The thoughtful use of spices and flavorings such as shrimp paste, lemongrass, coconut sauce, and tamarind contributes to the distinctive taste and character of Brunei dishes.
