August Sea Village Festival in Ninh Thuan

Ever wonder what it is like to be a fisherman and his communal life? Then you should not miss the Vietnam Sea Villages Festival, which will be held in Ninh Thuan from August 1st, 2011 to August 4th, 2011. This festival is one of the many activities of Ninh Thuan in celebration of Vietnam’s National Tourism Year 2011.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned People’s Committee of Ninh Thuan to organize two events including this Sea Villages Festival and Cham – Kate Festival 2011. This festival is a valuable opportunity for sea villages in the region to showcase their local beauty and promote the potential and advantages in developing economics in sea and island regions as well as sea, island tourism.
The opening ceremony is planned to begin at 8 p.m. on August 2nd, 2011 at the city square. The art performance at the beginning will be performed by Vietnam Ballet Theater as well as art troupes coming from Ninh Thuan with the theme of Vietnamese sea culture. The program will also be broadcasted live on VTV channel.
Additionally, the Festival will have several activities such as arts performance contest, sport events, cross-cultural and traditional culinary, exhibition fair, cultural exchange – visiting Ninh Thuan program.
