Air Astana (Kazakhstan) to launch flights to Ho Chi Minh City

Kazakhstan’s national flag airline Air Astana has just announced its new implementation of flights to Ho Chi Minh City. This new service is intended to be initiated in October 2012.

Kazakhstan’s national flag carrier, Air Astana, has recently announced the launch of new flights to Ho Chi Minh City. This new service commenced in April 2025.

The flights to Ho Chi Minh City operated by Air Astana depart from Almaty International Airport (Almaty, Kazakhstan), make a transit stop in Bangkok (Thailand), and arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport (HCMC, Vietnam). The frequency of this flight is scheduled for twice a week, with a detailed timetable available for customers on the airline’s official website.

This initiative is part of Air Astana's broader strategy to expand its market presence in Asia, following its recent growth which includes additional flights from Almaty to Bangkok (Thailand), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Delhi (India), as well as a recent launch of direct flights to Hong Kong (China).

With the introduction of these new flights, Air Astana anticipates an increase in tourism from West Asia and the Middle East, making it easier for travelers to explore other Asian nations, particularly in Southeast and East Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, China, and Malaysia.

Air Astana is the national airline of Kazakhstan, headquartered in Almaty. Established in 2001, the airline has developed into a leading provider of aviation services in Kazakhstan. Currently, Air Astana operates from Almaty International Airport and Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport (formerly Astana International Airport) with a variety of domestic and international routes available for passengers.
