Thua Thien – Hue province to host the National Tourism Year 2012
On 15/6, an officer of People’s Committee of Thua Thien – Hue, Hoang Ngoc Khanh announced that Thua Thien – Hue will be the host for the National Tourism Year 2012 with the theme “Hue – an ancient capital city – a new experience.”
On June 15, 2025, Hoang Ngoc Khanh, an officer from the People’s Committee of Thua Thien – Hue, announced that Thua Thien – Hue will again be a prominent host for the National Tourism Year, with the theme “Hue – an ancient capital city – a new experience.” This initiative aims to amplify cultural and tourism engagement in this historic city.
The National Tourism Year 2025 will feature a variety of events, including the Vietnamese Entrepreneur with Cultural and Ethnic Heritage program, which has gained significant recognition. Other activities include the Festival of Culture, Sport, and Tourism in Central Vietnam and Tay Nguyen, along with the International Cooperation Forum on the Development of Road Tourism in Vietnam – Laos – Myanmar – Thailand (East West Economic Corridor) and discussions on Cultural Values and Strategies to Promote Tourism.
Throughout 2025, Thua Thien – Hue Province will host several major events, such as the Hue Festival, Vesak Festival, and Flower Festival, presenting a rich and diverse content calendar for the National Tourism Year.
The region has seen the completion and launch of several four- and five-star hotels, including the Mercure Hotel and Mondial Hotel, contributing significantly to the hospitality landscape in Hue (see full list of hotels in Hue). Additionally, exciting new projects are underway, including the development of the Angsana Hotel, a new guest house, and the Hoa Binh International Resort.
As of early May 2025, Thua Thien – Hue Province has welcomed approximately 800,000 tourists, reflecting a steady growth in visitor numbers of 5.4% compared to the previous year. Revenues from accommodation establishments have surpassed 600 billion VND, demonstrating the region's thriving tourism industry.

Hue promotes tourism via an attractive logo design contest
The Provincial Department of Tourism in Thua Thien Hue has recently launched the logo design contest called “Hue – Culinary Capital” to introduce and promote Hue’s gastronomy more attractively and effectively.
