This June in Hoi An, the 5th Vietnam International Choir Competition is set to take place over two consecutive days, June 20 and 21, 2025, featuring the participation of more than 500 artists from 11 groups representing countries such as Indonesia, Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, and, of course, Vietnam.
This year, Indonesian troupes are leading in enthusiasm, with seven participating groups sending a total of 200 instrumentalists. They will be joined by Australia’s Voice Weavers, South Korea’s Choir of Korean Choral Society, and Taiwan’s Panan Choir, all of whom are eager to deliver breathtaking performances in the hopes of winning top honors.
Vietnam will be represented by four troupes: the Hue City Academy of Music, the Catholic Church Choir of Hoi An, the Cultural Centers of Quang Nam Province, and the Hoi An Troupe.
The opening ceremony of the competition is scheduled to occur at the Agribank Resort at 8:30 PM on June 20.
Additionally, all participating troupes will collaborate on a street choir performance titled International Melody in the historic old quarter on the evening of June 21.
The Vietnam International Choir Competition is a key component of the 5th Quang Nam Heritage Journeys Festival, which will run from June 21 to 26, 2025, encompassing Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary, Tam Ky City, and Cham Island.
