Located approximately 315 kilometers from Hanoi, Sapa is nestled in the Northwestern mountainous region of Vietnam, at an elevation of around 1,500 meters above sea level. Known for being home to Fansipan Peak, the tallest mountain in Indochina at 3,143 meters, Sapa is one of the few locations in Vietnam that offers stunning snowfall and is the only place that hosts a snow festival at the onset of the winter season.
This winter, visitors to Sapa can witness the magic of snowfall from Fansipan Peak, explore the charming town, indulge in delicious grilled dishes from local street vendors, or savor a hearty hotpot in its numerous restaurants.
Additionally, the Sapa Snow Festival coincides with the Christmas and New Year celebrations, making it an ideal time for travelers to immerse themselves in the local culture, traditions, and cuisine. The festival is free and open to the public, solidifying its status as one of the most appealing tourist attractions in Sapa and the Northern region of Vietnam.
