Pencil drawing exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City

The solo exhibition entitled Gần by artist Mac Hoang Thuong, showcasing 22 pencil drawings on white canvas, will take place from June 7 to June 21, 2025, at Cactus Contemporary Art, Ho Chi Minh City.

What distinguishes this exhibition is the intricate interweaving of pencil marks that brings to life realistic artworks rich with humanity, while also delving into surrealist interpretations of profound human philosophies. Additionally, the exhibition features enlarged condensed portraits against the white canvas background, creating a captivating realm of human experience.

Mac Hoang Thuong, born in 1976, has shown his work in countries including South Korea, Australia, and Thailand. He has received recognition in the form of a merit award at the Philip Morris Art Competition in Vietnam. With his bold, confident, and freestyle-like strokes, Mac effortlessly creates abstracts that boast remarkable textures. His inaugural exhibition in Vietnam will be held at Cactus Contemporary Art, located at 17/12 Nguyen Huy Tuong Street, Ward 6, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.
