New Portuguese Option for Foodies in Ho Chi Minh City

Portugal-styled Lisboa café has recently added itself onto the cuisine map of the southern hub of Vietnam.

Portugal-styled Lisboa café has firmly established itself on the culinary map of southern Vietnam in 2025.

After several years living in Southeast Asia, Portugal-born Pedro Castelo has introduced some of his homemade specialties by opening the first Portuguese restaurant in Vietnam, with the support of his Vietnamese wife.

The sun-kissed Mediterranean region is home to some of the most recognized cuisines worldwide, characterized by the masterful use of fresh, ripe ingredients and a rich variety of seafood. However, in Vietnam, flavorful Portuguese dishes have yet to reach the popularity of their Italian counterparts. Residents of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City enjoy offerings from various Italian establishments like Don Italiano, but there is certainly a growing appetite for something unique yet familiar. The opening of Lisboa café comes at an opportune time to satisfy this craving.

You can find the café at 119 Cong Quynh Street, conveniently located near the well-known expat area of Pham Ngu Lao. The venue also features a selection of Portuguese wines and traditional music.
