Portugal-styled Lisboa café has recently added itself onto the cuisine map of the southern hub of Vietnam.

After years living in South-East Asia, Portugal-born Pedro Castelo has decided to bring over some of his home-made specialties, and opened the very first Portuguese restaurant in Vietnam, with the help of his Vietnamese wife.

Sun-kissed Mediterranean land offers some of the world's best known cuisines, with the skillful use of fresh, ripe ingredients, combined with the abundance of sea products. But in Vietnam, flavorful Portuguese foods have yet to be as prominent as their neighboring Italian counterparts. As much as the residents of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city enjoy Don Italiano's offering, there is certainly a craving for something strange yet familiar. And for that, the opening of Lisboa café cannot be at a better timing.

One can find the cafe at 119 Cong Quynh street near the famous expat-land Pham Ngu Lao. The venue also offers Portuguese wine and music.
