According to Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, the Japan-Vietnam Day is planned to take place on this Sunday (July 8, 2012) at 8.30 am at Youth Culture House (4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City). This is co-hosted event by the center and the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event serves main purpose to provide locals with opportunities of learning Japanese culture by participating themselves in various games and activities such as playing yo-yo, kites, making tore paper painting and watching artistic shows.
In addition, there is a photographic exhibition and documentary movie screenings at which daily lives and culture of Japanese in the past and present are exposed.
culture has a long history presenting in Vietnam from the time of the first trading boats ported at Hoi An
and Van Don
. However, the influence of the culture are more apparent in recent years, particularly in youth, as people in Vietnam are now more accessible to Japanese culture, including performing art, comics, filmography and music.
