The exhibition of 34 oil paintings themed “Impression on Sapa” of artist To Ngoc Thanh, son of famous To Ngoc Van is coming up soon at Tu do Gallery in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday 10th September, lasting to 28th September. The exhibition is expected to feature a vivid Sapa with its fabulous sceneries, traditional customs and daily life activities.

Sapa is known as a peacefully famous landscape, highly recommend as a four- season paradise on earth by most tourists. However, thanks to this exhibition, visitors are promised to see another off the beaten track Sapa, the one that you may vaguely feel but can not figure out what it is. Through the eyes of the artist, Sapa is not only a harmonious town but a color-contrasted place, especially under the warm spring sunlight.

To Ngoc Thanh started his career as a painter from his early childhood. He is currently living in Hanoi, yet the artist always nourishes a hope to come back the mountainous northern province, where he and his family evacuated to at the time of the national resistance in 1946. The exhibition is therefore expected to reflect on both his insight into the beauty of mountains and forests as well as his preoccupation about instant changes facing the area in days to come.
