Environmentally Sustainable City awarded to Danang
Danang has been awarded the title “ASEAN Environmentally Sustainable City” by ASEAN national committee, becoming the only one city in Vietnam honored to be titled this reward.
Danang has been awarded the title “ASEAN Environmentally Sustainable City” by ASEAN national committee, becoming the only one city in Vietnam honored to be titled this reward, along with 9 other cities in South East Asia. The title is expected to be awarded to Vietnam on 17th ASEAN Summit on 23 November 2011 in Bali, Indonesia.
This is considered the greatest present to efforts of Danang authorities in creating and developing a sustainable living environment, as well as the recognition to result of the city’ project on generating a green city from now until 2020.
Environmentally Sustainable City is a special title awarded by ASEAN national committee each year to cities in South East Asia, which have significant result on preserving environment and building eco-cities. This year, the award is gifted to 10 cities, including Danang, in addition to 6 other cities which are considered having potential to become sustainable cities of environment in ASEAN.
Exhibition to highlight Vietnam’s heritage and handicrafts to be held in December
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism informed that an exhibition honoring Vietnam’s cultural heritage and traditional handicrafts will be held in Ninh Binh province from 17 to 24 December 2021.
